I’m excited to share the next room on our home tour! Our living room is right off our front door and the most formal room in our house. I wanted it to have a mid-century modern feel with pops of color and be a great space for entertaining. The bar was a wedding present from my parents and we used it at our place in Chicago just for storage. Although I personally haven’t enjoyed a drink from the bar (I found out I was pregnant 6 days after we moved in), it has been a so nice to finally open it up and put it to use!Gold pouf from Etsy, Gray Malin Prada Marfa print, Thrifted buffet from Randolph Street Market
Ever since I found out I was pregnant I have been waiting for the cravings to kick in. Much to my dismay it really hasn’t happened yet, except for my new found love with breakfast. I was searching online for a french toast recipe and The Huffington Post claimed that this is The Only French Toast Recipe You’ll Ever Need and man are they right. The recipe from Martha Stewart takes longer than your normal french toast recipe, but it is so worth the wait. I hope you enjoy these as much as I did! And as a bonus- they actually reheat really well:)

Now at 24 weeks pregnant, my fashion is becoming about effortless comfort with a little flair. This simple gray dress has been a great non-maternity dress that is getting me through the first half of my pregnancy and hopefully through the rest of summer!

A couple weeks ago, my husband and I got away for a little early baby moon to California. One of my favorite days was spent in LA where we had lunch at Bottega Louie and attended a taping of Jimmy Kimmel. I had been dying to wear this dress since I bought it back in March and was so glad that my baby bump fit in it!
After months of tweaking, I’m finally ready to share a few pictures of our home and I am starting with the dining room! I really loved the idea of doing a dark wall and making the ceiling and light fixture the focal point of the room. I added a simple DIY canvas with our wedding song lyrics and some quirky touches on the bookcase and am really happy with how it turned out. I hope you enjoy room one of our home tour!
I don’t normally make coffee cake, but I bookmarked this recipe for Greek Yogurt Coffee Cake from a Beautiful Mess with the hopes of making it on a lazy weekend morning. This Memorial Day weekend proved to be the perfect opportunity to make this and I am so glad that I did. The topping adds the perfect amount of sweetness and you will be going back to take little pieces of this coffee cake all weekend long.
Life around here has obviously been changing a lot lately! We are expecting our first baby in November and are beyond excited. We found out just 6 days after moving into our new house- so between unpacking, settling into pregnancy, and just taking a little time to relax- my blog has been pretty deserted. I still want to continue to post and share all the house updates, baby fun, and pregnancy fashion- but it may not be as frequent or as wordy as it has been in the past. I hope you all follow along in this new chapter in our lives- I can’t wait to share it all. Especially the nursery which I can’t wait to get my hands on once we know if Baby Barriga will be a boy or a girl:)Express tank top, BB Dakota skirt (from Edith Hart)
Baby Barriga’s first clothes- gender neutral for now:)
